Mike Howgate 

Michael is a geologist who has given guided tours & 'Stones of the City' walks for the Natural History Museum and Birkbeck College. He has been a City Guide for twelve years and written a series on 'Stones of the City' for the City Guide magazine.


Mike founded and ran the Dinosaur Collectors Club (now defunct) for many years. He has one of the largest collections of dinosaur models and ephemera in the country. He is also the UK's major opponent of the "birds are dinosaurs" theory.


He also leads guided tours of churches and their building stones in Hertfordshire and Essex, and is the recorder of Geology for the county of Hertfordshire.
